Refund and cancellation policy

How payments, cancellations and refunds work. Your project agreement has the exact terms for your work.

The agreement comes first

Every project, retainer or subscription has a written proposal or agreement. It sets out what is delivered, when payments are due and how cancellation works. This page explains our general approach; where your agreement is different, your agreement applies.

Custom software and website projects

Projects are usually paid in stages tied to agreed milestones.

  • Payments for milestones already delivered are not refundable, because the work has been done.
  • If you cancel, we stop work and invoice only for work completed up to the date of cancellation, as set out in the agreement.
  • Any advance for work not yet started is adjusted or refunded as described in the agreement.

Marketing retainers and support plans

Monthly services can be cancelled with the notice period given in your agreement. Fees for the current period are not refundable once the period has started.

Advertising spend is paid by you directly to the ad platforms, so refunds of ad spend are governed by those platforms' own terms.

Third-party costs

Costs paid to others on your behalf, such as domains, hosting, app store fees, software licences or messaging charges, are not refundable by us once paid, unless the provider refunds them.

How refunds are made

Where a refund is due, it is made to the original payment method or by bank transfer, after deducting any applicable charges agreed in writing. Applicable taxes are handled as the law requires.
